From September 2022 our new Headteacher is Richard Clutterbuck.
I often ask parents and carers what they want for their children from a school. The answers can be distilled into three simple expectations, "I want my child to be safe, happy and successful."
Our aim here at Deer Park is to ensure that we meet these expectations and our mission, the reason we exist, is to enable everyone ‘to be the best we can be every day’.
When a pupil joins Deer Park they are welcomed by a dedicated Pastoral Team who, in non-teaching roles, ensure that our pupils are fully supported, so they can take advantage of all we have to offer. The Pastoral Team work closely with our Inclusion Team, our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Team and our Teachers to ensure that our pupils not only feel safe, but happy and confident, so they are able to play a full role as the key members of our community.
We have designed a curriculum that gives pupils a rich and challenging experience, a broad and balanced body of knowledge and skills, allowing them to stand shoulder to shoulder with their peers and achieve things they may never have thought they were capable of achieving.
Our teachers deliver this curriculum as ambitious subject experts, so that pupils at Deer Park experience learning which is active and engaging, has depth and challenge, and sets them up with good habits for learning beyond the classroom.
Deer Park’s extra-curricular programme provides a huge range of exciting opportunities for pupils to enrich their experience of school; from the glaciers in Iceland to the smoke machines of the Talent Show, from bonding with other pupils in the Sports teams to supporting PE staff as Young Sports Leaders, from performing in a whole school Musical to being elected as one of the school’s Vice Presidents. These are just a few examples of what Deer Park offers its young people.
No matter the starting point of a pupil, our expectations of what they capable of are high and staff work tirelessly to help every pupil meet them. Deer Park is a wonderful place to learn and work. It is full of remarkable people being challenged to do remarkable things.
I am privileged to be the Headteacher of Cirencester Deer Park School and extremely proud of all that we do here, but don’t take my word for it, come and visit us and experience Deer Park for yourself. Whether you are a prospective pupil and family, or you would like to come and work with us or be part of our community, you will be warmly welcomed. Find out about Joining Us...
