Year 9 Timetable

Owing to staff shortages, Year 9 to work from home Wednesday 11 to Thursday 19 November.

As announced to Year 9 pupils and parents at the end of Tuesday 10 November 2020, pupils in Year 9 have been asked to work from home from Wednesday 11 to Thursday 19 November owing to staff shortages.

We do not have a confirmed case of COVID-19 in this year group. While they do not need to self-isolate unless they have been identified as a close contact, pupils in Year 9 do need to stay at home as we are in a period of national lockdown. Mrs Burfoot, our Year 9 Year Leader, is on hand to provide support. She will also be following up any concerns teachers and parents have regarding remote learning.

Year 9s are expected to routinely check their school emails for any updates and should be ready to learn from 9:00am each morning.

THIS WEEK:
As shown on the timetable below, pupils in Year 9 will all learn remotely for the rest of this week.  On Thursday 12 and Friday 13 November, pupils will be expected to attend some live lessons in MS Teams alongside completing the assignments that have been posted in Show My Homework.

NEXT WEEK:
During week commencing Monday 16 November, we look forward to welcoming Year 9 back on a rota, which will balance time in school and at home:

  • 'B' half year group will re-join us in school on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 November and will learn remotely on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November;
  • 'A' half year group will be in school on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November, having learned remotely on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 November;
  • Friday 20 November is an Inset Day and school is closed to all pupils.

The timetable is colour-coded to show when lessons will be delivered live in MS Teams (yellow) and when tasks will be assigned in Show My Homework (green).

We expect everyone to attend their live lessons in MS Teams, engage in all learning activities and make a positive contribution. All pupils should be familiar with and equipped for learning online because of their previous experience during lockdown from March to July 2020. Please contact Mrs Burfoot, Year 9 Year Leader, if you have any questions.

We look forward to seeing all Year 9 pupils back in school on Monday 23 November.

  • The same rules apply as in your regular classrooms in school.

  • Teams is not for you to use to communicate with your friends outside of lessons with teachers – use other means to do this please.  This is very important.

  • You can use the camera if you would like to, however this is your choice – if you don’t want to then you can still be involved in the class.  You can set the camera to have a blurred background.  Please avoid things being in the background that could distract (including other family members).

  • Ensure that you are dressed appropriately please if you are planning on using the camera.

  • Please keep all the class chat about the lessons.  It is especially important that your language is appropriate.

  • Please make sure that you attend the sessions when they’re scheduled.

  • Your teachers have been busy learning how to use this resource FOR YOUR BENEFIT.  Please work with them in learning this – It might not always work perfectly!

  • If you don’t cooperate in the TEAM (class) we will take you out of the group.
