Inter Tutor Group Sport

Key Stage 3 Inter Tutor Group Tournaments commence!

Each year we run Inter Tutor Group Sports Tournaments for Key Stage 3, with points added up across the year for each year group and the eventual winners of these keenly competed events announced at the end of the Summer term. Tutor groups should always enter a team because, even if they lose, they will gain points, rather than no points if they don't enter. You have to be in it to win it!

On Tuesday 17 October 2017 we kicked off (wrong sporting metaphor!) our Key Stage 3 Inter Tutor Group Tournaments with Girls Netball and Boys Rugby, officiated by Year 10 Games Captains and Year 11 GCSE PE pupils.

KS3 Inter Tutor Group Netball Tournament

The Girls Inter Tutor Group Tournament proved to be a very exciting competition with over 90 girls taking part.

The Year 7 tournament showcased some excellent play from the youngest players in the school and it was lovely to see their competitive nature shining through. Four out of the six tutor groups took part and we had to have a golden goal competition for 2nd and 3rd place, as they were tied on points and goal difference.

5 out of 6 Year 8 tutor groups took part, which made this a very competitive tournament.

Unfortunately only two teams played in Year 9, but they played a full game of 4 quarters. They are a very skilful group of girls and this was a tense and hard fought match.

The competition was really well supported and officiated by the Games Captains and other Year 10 and 11 helpers. They did a great job and our congratulations to everyone who took part in some way.

KS3 Inter Tutor Group Rugby Tournament

We had 13 tutor groups across Key Stage 3 participating in the Boys Inter Tutor Group Rugby competition. All teams played well with free-flowing rugby skills and electric pace from some. The pupils were a credit to themselves and their tutor group and played in an excellent spirit supporting each other. The quality of rugby on show was amazing. Thank you to the Games Captains for supporting the event by referring and organising the teams.
