Year 7 Learning Conference

On Wednesday 13 September 2023 we welcomed Year 7 pupils and their parents/carers to two separate events in the Main Hall focused on Year 7 Learning.

Both the morning and evening events looked at the importance of revision and being like a Chinese Bamboo Tree, together with an understanding of memory to help make our learning more effective. The key part of the conference was a demonstration of how to use mind maps and flash cards to revise effectively.

Our youngest learners proved to be an attentive audience during the pupils' Year 7 Learning Conference. Will said 'the Learning Conference was very interesting'. Flash cards were created and mind maps studied as part of their morning learning.

At the Year 7 Learning and Curriculum Evening, it was the turn of parents and carers to explore the themes of memory and revision, with practical examples and advice. A recorded version of the presentation can be found here if you were unable to attend:
