Year 9 Celebration 2021

Celebrating our Year 9 pupils

VIRTUAL YEAR 9 CELEBRATION OF ACHIEVEMENT EVENT
Thursday 6 May 2021
6.00pm

We are looking forward to welcoming our Year 9 pupils and their parents to our Key Stage 3 Celebration of Achievement evening which will take place virtually on Thursday 6 May 2021 at 6pm in MS Teams.

As our Year 9s near the end of their Key Stage 3 education, we are delighted to celebrate their successes. Whilst we would obviously prefer to celebrate en masse in the Main Hall with all our Year 9 pupils and parents, after more than a year of virtual events and meetings, we all know that MS Teams is the next best thing. Pupils have been nominated across three categories - Attainment, Effort and Improvement - in each subject area. There are further awards for pupils who have the highest attainment across the curriculum, and those who have made the most progress from their starting point in Year 7.

Currently 80% of the year group have been nominated across all areas and these nominations will be shared with pupils during tutor time. Electronic invitations will be sent to pupils, as well as the link being included in a letter to parents.

We will be joined on the evening by our Heads of Faculty, who will present their winners, as well as Headteacher Ms Henson and Adrian Danks, Chair of the Local Governing Body.

I am looking forward to acknowledging the progress our pupils in Year 9 have made in Key Stage 3 through particularly challenging times. While we will be doing so for the second time online, we hope pupils and their families will join us in celebrating their achievements in MS Teams. This event marks an important milestone in their education and opens a new chapter as they prepare to commence their GCSEs in June this year.’

Ms Henson, Headteacher

Richard Clutterbuck, Deputy Head, will provide inspiration and guidance for the challenges ahead for the year group as they prepare to move into the next phase in their learning in Key Stage 4 and for the GCSEs they will sit in 2023.

'Whether your young person is sporty, academic, dramatic, artistic or an allrounder, we look forward to seeing you to celebrate the year group’s successes on Thursday 6 May at 6pm.' Mr Bellamy, Assistant Head
