Sharing our Values
Sharing our new Values with the school community
Cirencester Deer Park School's values, selected by pupils and staff, have been revealed this week, week ending Friday 14 October 2022.
Mr Clutterbuck, Headteacher: In September 2022, when I shared the school’s mission (to be the best we can be every day) and our aims (for pupils to be safe, happy and successful), I asked pupils and staff to help me shape the values which will underpin the aims and help drive our mission.
Pupils and staff were asked the following questions:
- What value or characteristic makes you feel safe?
- What value or characteristic makes you feel happy?
- What value or characteristic will make you successful?
The answers were remarkably similar:
Pupils:
1. Trust
2. Friendships
3. Determination.
Staff:
1. Trust
2. Kindness
3. Determination.
Given that positive friendships are underpinned by kindness, Headteacher Mr Clutterbuck decided that Kindness should be the second value.
