Save our Friends!

Urgent appeal from Friends of Deer Park School.

The Friends of Deer Park School are a small team of regular parent volunteers and a core Committee of three. Two of the Committee team have Year 11 children who are due to leave school at the end of May. We urgently need replacements for our Secretary and Finance Committee members.

Are you a Deer Park Parent and Can you step in?

We meet once a term with a member of the School Leadership Team and our friendly meetings are usually less than 1 hour long. The meetings take place at 6.30pm at Deer Park, usually on the second Tuesday of term. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, 24 April but you don't need to wait until then to contact us!

Without filling these roles, ‘The Friends of Deer Park’ are in danger of disbanding at the end of the Summer term and Cirencester Deer Park School will be without a PTA team for the first time.

We also always welcome new volunteers. We raise funds at our events throughout the year to provide vital, enriching, fun resources for all pupils. Recently we have funded games and resources for the PLC, provided equipment for the catering department, supplies for DofE participants, 'Laughter Yoga' sessions and lifesaving equipment in the form of the onsite defribrillator.

By being part of the team you get to meet other parents and experience a vital connection between school and parents. We often assist as a sounding board for school and help in decision making. It is a great way to learn about school without hassling your child!
