Leavers' Ball 2023
Party with our Class of 2023
On Friday 30 June 2023 we hosted our Class of 2023 Leavers' Ball, marking the end of this year group's five year journey at Deer Park.
The early evening weather was unfortunately not on our side but this didn't deter the arrival procession at the front of school and our young people arrived in their gowns and suits looking incredible, and so different from just a few weeks prior. The variety of 'carriages' included flash supercars, horseboxes, classic vehicles and (the favourite of many) a cardboard limo. However they arrived, this Class of 2023 were greeted with a round of applause from the spectating crowd of family and friends.
Once everyone had arrived, Mr Clutterbuck, Headteacher, formally announced the opening of the Ball and pupils entered the Main Hall, which had been transformed from traditional assembly and dining space into spectacular evening event space.
A selection of non-alcoholic drinks were available from the bar (staffed by the year group's tutors) along with a range of snacks and sweets, and later in the evening they were treated to pizza and cones of chips. As a year group they were slow to get on the dance floor, however when the guest band TNT, consisting of 4 classmates, played their set there wasn't room to move. Following TNT's set, the young people continued to dance the evening away and take selfies in the photo booth.
A massive thank you to the Admin team for all their organisation and hard work in ensuring this event took place.
The Class of 2023 were a credit to themselves during the evening and we look forward to seeing them all again on Results Day, Thursday 24 August 2023, from 9.15am.
The Class of 2023 ended their five years at Deer Park in splendid and glorious fashion. Undeterred by the inclement weather, their outfits and arrival at the Leavers’ Ball brought smiles to everyone’s faces. I will remember them fondly as my first class to graduate from Deer Park in my role as Headteacher. I wish them a restful summer and look forward to seeing them all on Thursday 24 August to collect their GCSE results.
