Ofsted Report 2023

Our Ofsted Report 2023 is released

Message from Mr Clutterbuck, Headteacher:

Following our Ofsted Inspection on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 January 2023, I am pleased to share our Ofsted report, which I received from the lead inspector, James Oldham, HMI on Monday 27 February 2023.

This evaluation from Ofsted reflects the hard work of our pupils, staff, governors and families to make Deer Park a place where young people, in fact everyone, can be the best they can be every day. The report captures the essence of Deer Park and confirms to us all that we are moving in the right direction: ‘Pupils welcome leaders’ high expectations of their behaviour and conduct… Pupils enjoy their learning and feel well prepared for the future… Parents and carers speak highly of the school. They value the communication they have with leaders and the quality of education their children receive…’

The report goes on to comment on the quality of education: ‘In each subject curriculum, leaders have sequenced knowledge to prepare pupils for future learning… Teachers have the subject expertise they need.’ Furthermore, the report notes the quality of leadership and governance: ‘Leaders have a clear and ambitious vision for the quality of education that pupils receive… Trustees and local governors are experienced and ask challenging questions to hold leaders to account.’

This is a very positive report as it confirms that Cirencester Deer Park School continues to be a good school. However, we are not complacent and we know that we still have plenty of work to do to develop Deer Park further. The areas that we need to improve, which were confirmed by Ofsted, are already within our development plan which is driving the school forwards so that every member of the school community is able to be safe, happy and successful.
