One week to go until the start of the Cirencester Deer Park School Talent Show!

Pupils at Deer Park across our five year groups are eagerly anticipating the 2016 Talent Show, with participants practising their routines, fine tuning acts and organising last minute rehearsals ready for next week, in the hope that they will make it through to the final on Friday 18 November.

Hazel in Year 8 said ‘Michael, Isabel and I are really excited about the competition, we have been practising 2 or 3 times a week and are thrilled to be a part of the Talent Show.’

Each of over 50 acts has been allocated to one of two heat nights - Wednesday 16 or Thursday 17 November - ready to dazzle our judges. Pupils have been meeting with members of the Expressive Arts Team since the half term break to show their acts and to receive advice on making sure their act is the best it can be.

Music teacher Miss Faux, who is new to the school this year, said ‘I have been impressed with the variety of talent at Deer Park and the commitment from pupils in preparation for the Talent Show - they have been practising since the beginning of term.'

All pupils involved in the show will be coming in to school this Sunday, 13 November, for a technical rehearsal so they can get a feel for the stage and practice with any technical elements their piece requires.

Next week we will be welcoming previous members of the Deer Park community back to school to judge our talent: former Deputy Head Teacher Chris Francis will judge on Wednesday night, Carol Radway, who worked on the school Reception for a significant time, will judge on Thursday night and 2014’s winner Alex Ololade will judge and perform at the final.

Tickets are on sale from the Atrium at break time and Reception at lunch time and after school. Ticket prices: Heats £4.00 / £3.50 (under 16), Final £5.00  / £4.50 (under 16).

Good luck to all pupils taking part in our Talent Show, which raises money for BBC Children in Need. We look forward to seeing the acts and their supporters next week.
