Vacancies for New Governors

Vacancies for Governors to join our Local Governing Body

We are looking to recruit new Governors to join the Local Governing Body of Cirencester Deer Park School. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the Local Governing Body and, together with the Headteacher, play an important role in defining the direction of the school.

Deer Park School is a member of The Corinium Education Trust and the Local Governing Body has delegated responsibilities and provides both support and challenge to the Headteacher and staff.

The Local Governing Body is made up of Governors from all walks of life with a range of backgrounds, skills, and experiences, but they are all volunteers who work together for the benefit of the school and are the link between the school, the Corinium Education Trust and the community it serves. Governors do not need to be experts in education; we believe everyone has something to offer.

The Local Governing Body meets 6 times a year. Meetings are scheduled for 2 hours, from 6pm to 8pm on Thursdays. All members of our Local Governing Bodies are also expected to attend The Corinium Education Trust’s governance training events 3 times a year. We use an online portal for the sharing of agendas and papers. Meetings are currently held in person at the school or online via MS Teams.

If you would like to find out more about becoming a member of our Local Governing Body, we would like to invite you to attend an informal open meeting at 6.00pm on Monday 7 November 2022 with Richard Clutterbuck, Headteacher and Adrian Danks, Chair of our Local Governing Body. This meeting will be held remotely via Microsoft Teams.

After this meeting, interested candidates will be invited to complete the CET Governance Application Form.

Please confirm your interest and attendance at this meeting to Kathy Jackson, CET Governance Officer, via email to clerk@coriniumeducationtrust.net by 4 November 2022.

Cirencester Deer Park School is committed to safer recruitment and safeguarding our pupils and all members of the Local Governing Body are subject to an enhanced clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We look forward to hearing from you.
