Enrichment Week is far more than an activities week. It is  a valuable opportunity for us to challenge our pupils to achieve more and to make use of rich learning resources that exist beyond our classrooms. Our pupils not only learn about their destinations or new environments; they also learn more about themselves and develop the softer skills that will help them become responsible citizens in the future. They learn about innovation, creativity and sustainability, team work and team leadership, how to co-operate with others, meet deadlines, manage themselves and take responsibility. I am grateful to all of the members of staff who plan and support these dynamic experiences for our pupils and I never cease to be amazed at what our children can achieve!

• Aim for the Stars - developing team building and communication skills within tutor groups.
• Capital Experience (London) - experiencing the history and culture of our capital city.
• Community Theatre - creating and working in a small scale 'theatre in education' company.
• Cornish Artistic Adventure (Penzance) - experimenting and creating artwork inspired by Cornwall.
• Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award - training for the qualifying expedition and a practice expedition.
• Enterprise Challenge - designing, making, marketing and selling products.
• Football Coaching - technical and tactical coaching at school, at Swindon Town and at Man City.
• France (Paris) - enhancing language skills and developing a wider appreciation of another country.
• Holland (Heemskerk) - broadening knowledge and understanding of this fascinating country.
• Holland (Noordwijk) - staying by the beach, find out about this interesting country.
• Iceland - Year 11 Geography trip.
• M-A-S-S-I-V-E - new experiences and challenges locally including circus skills, tshirt printing, archery.
• Born to be Wild - working at Westonbirt with professionals to develop your conservation skills.
• Water Sports - three days at South Cerney and two days at Keynes Country Park.
• Work Experience - new Year 11 pupils increasing their awareness of the world of work.

As well as being great fun, the trips and activities have educational purposes that aim to give every pupil the opportunity to experience new situations outside of the classroom, widen pupils’ horizons, give pupils the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people. The week also aims to develop pupils' resilience, independence and confidence, promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, social and physical development of pupils and prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life in modern Britain.
