Reward Trips

Whole School Reward Trips

The 2020-2021 academic year has been a challenge for everyone, no matter their age and, amongst other things, young people have missed out on important enrichment activities. Our pupils have been resilient and committed and we are pleased to be able to offer them the opportunity to take part in a special day out before the end of term.

During week commencing 14 June 2021, pupils at Deer Park watched an assembly from Headteacher Ms Henson and they have been walking past a new display in school, both of which announced that we have reward trips planned for the end of this term. Pupils received a letter on Friday 18 June with details of their year group's trip.

  • Monday 19 July: (new) Year 8 and (new) Year 10
  • Tuesday 20 July: (new) Year 9 and (new) Year 11.

We are running these trips to mark the end of what has been a tumultuous year, and in recognition of how brilliant our young people have been throughout the ups and downs of the pandemic. Different year groups will be going to different places and we are hoping to take as many pupils as we can to two theme/safari parks. All pupils are invited and the letters give details of how and when to pay for the trips. The reply slips need to be returned by Friday 2 July at the latest.

We know that the announcement of the trips has created a buzz among the pupils. Staff who will be accompanying pupils are equally excited - Mr Carmichael and Mr Cook are in competition to see who can catch the most rides in the theme parks!
