Pupils

We believe firmly in working together to promote and support learning. We encourage parents and carers to work with us to help define and realise our shared aims for each child. School Council representatives have become part of a website development group and are working on new content for this page.

Beyond the visible curriculum...

Our comprehensive range of enrichment and extra-curricular clubs and activities help our pupils develop various skills and attributes. Lunchtime and after school clubs include Sports (dance, hockey, football, athletics, basketball, rugby, cricket, badminton, gymnastics, tennis, table tennis), Languages, Expressive Arts (drama, choir, jazz club, rock ensemble, orchestra, steel band), Computing and Science. Each year we run concerts, school productions, Science and Sports Fairs on site and organise field trips, museum visits, European tours and exchange visits, outdoor pursuits and Duke of Edinburgh Award, enterprise and work-related learning and much much more!

Pupil Services

We recognise that as individuals, pupils have different needs and respond to challenges in different ways. Our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Pupil Services teams are designed to ensure that all pupils can thrive at Deer Park. The experienced teams include the pastoral leadership team, tutors, support staff and 'expert' professionals. They play an important part in the development of all children and work closely with parents and external agencies. The team provides essential pastoral support, rewards and sanctions, first aid, counselling, mediation, conflict resolution, behaviour or anger management, literacy and numeracy support, dyslexia and English as an additional language workshop.

I think that coming to this school is the best decision that I made regarding my choices for the future. I feel that the way we learn really suits me as a person. It’s a brilliant place not just for learning but also for having fun.
