School Standards

All members of our school community contribute to regular reviews of our school standards through consultation and participation in active groups such as our school council. These, drafted and revisited by pupil representatives, underpin the ethos of the school:

  • Put your best effort into everything you do within the school
  • Treat everyone in the school community equally
  • Do not be part of any bullying
  • Accept the consequences of your actions
  • Consider other peoples views even if you do not agree with them
  • Understand that pupils, parents and all staff are part of the same team
  • Respect all the school’s facilities
  • Help to maintain a pleasant school free of litter
  • Make everyone in the school environment feel welcome
  • Wear the school uniform correctly

We have a School Standards Explained document which was written by pupils in Yr 7 and 8 to help others understand the school standards and to give examples of the behaviour that is expected.

Rewards

Pupils are rewarded for many achievements throughout the school. Merits stamps are given in recognition of effort and contribution to the school community. Pupils collect these and achieve Merit Badges.

  • Bronze - 25 merits
  • Silver – 50 merits
  • Gold – 75 merits
  • Diamond – 100 merits and voucher

Pupils are also awarded Deer Park points which can be given in recognition for helping others within their community. Points are awarded for attendance, helping others in the school community, helping others in the wider community, and being a good citizen. The top 50 pupils will get reward vouchers.
