As an 11-16 comprehensive school we are proud to be recognised as a ‘high performing specialist school’. We have five specialisms. The school was one of the first in the country to become a Technology College in 1995. Following our success as a Beacon School in the late 1990s, we became the lead school in our Leading Edge Partnership. In 2004, we successfully applied to become a designated Training School. In 2006 and 2007 we achieved two more additional specialisms: Arts and Applied Learning.
