Primary liaison is well established at Cirencester Deer Park School. The programme focuses on learning and shares the expertise of the School's team of three Advanced Skills Teachers, Mrs Clarke, the School Sports Co-ordinator, and Headteacher, Chiquita Henson. The programme encourages staff to participate in cross phases projects.
Currently, there are seven local primary schools in the Partnership; Chesterton, Kemble, Powells, Rodmarton, Sapperton, Stratton and Watermoor although opportunities do exist for other schools to get involved in some of the activities. These focus on teaching and learning, transition between primary and secondary school, and cross-curricular and subject specific projects.
This year we have been designated as a ‘School of Creativity’ and we are delighted to be able to offer a different programme of after school activities for pupils in Years 5 and 6 in each term. Since last November, we have run many after school courses and the children have learnt new skills and made new friends. They have taken part in the Christmas & culture Languages club, Animations, Mathemania, Amazing Science, Secret pocket T-Shirt, Go faster with D & T, hold the Front Page and Music Technology. See Parents page for more information.
