Music Technology

The Level 2 Music Technology course is designed for those of you who are interested in music and the music industry and wish to develop and practice skills using a variety of sound equipment and software. To deliver the course the school has invested in a purpose built recording studio, suite of Mac computers running both GarageBand and Logic software.

The course is structured into separate units. Unit 1 and 2 are compulsory and then there are 9 further optional units.

  • Unit 1 Set up and operate audio/MIDI sequencing software
  • Unit 2 Create music using audio/MIDI sequencing software
  • Unit 3 Multi track audio recording
  • Unit 4 Use multi-track sound mixing techniques
  • Unit 5 Using DJ skills
  • Unit 6 Dance music production
  • Unit 7 Audio Editing
  • Unit 8 Sound and music production
  • Unit 9 Sound effects techniques for audio production
  • Unit10 Microphone use in music production
  • Unit 11 Location recording
