Cotswold School Sports Partnership

The Deer Park School Cluster

The main role of the Cotswold School Sports Partnership is to encourage greater participation in PE and sport over and above what is taught within curriculum time.

At Deer Park this is achieved through:

sports leadership
a full programme of inter school competitions
a gifted and talented focus
introduction to extreme sports
assisting with disability sports
working with external club coaches
linking with local sports clubs
supporting staff in PE at primary schools, sharing facilities and good practice.

All these additional opportunities are enabling all young people to work toward the Governments initiative of ‘the 5 hour offer’, whereby they can participate in two hours of PE in curriculum time, one hour in extra curricular activities offered by the school and a further two hours in community sport and leisure activities. Our School Sports Co-ordinator is Mrs Clarke.
