Year 11 Arrive Alive

ARRIVE ALIVE pre-driving presentation for Year 11 pupils

Thursday, 25th February, 3:30-4:30

Passing the driving test opens up a whole new world of freedom and independence. But being a driver comes with a set of important responsibilities. The 'Arrive Alive' pre-driving presentation at Cirencester Deer Park School for Y11 pupils, on Thursday 25th February, is free of charge and is delivered by local driving examiners. It uses a facilitated group discussion and a DVD showing the department for Transport 'THINK Campaign' footage, the experiences of real young people and a striking drama to communicate key road safety messages.

The presentation focuses on:

  • the vulnerability of the new, young driver
  • the dangers of drinking and taking drugs when driving
  • the use of speed and its consequences when not used correctly
  • video footage highlighting the results of road traffic accidents
  • hazard awareness and anticipating the actions of other road users
  • information about both the theory and practical tests

Year 11 pupils should sign up at the Key Stage 4 Office.
