The Big Tidy Up

Monday 13 June 2011

On Thursday 9 June a group of our (new) Year 11s from the Pupil Council, with support across the year group, organised a massive clean up of the Abbey Grounds in Cirencester as part of the national anti-litter campaign The Big Tidy Up.

This group of pupils led our Year 8 pupils in the clean up and worked in partnership with Sue Ponting and her environmental team at Cotswold District Council to pick up 12 bags of litter, of which around 30% was recyclable. One of the more unusual items collected was a road sign! All involved did terrifically well and helped further their understanding of the Eco agenda at Deer Park and appreciate their role as active citizens in the local community.
