The Big Tidy Up

September 2009
Last week, 36 pupils from Cirencester Deer Park School contributed towards Britain’s biggest ever litter pick. The pupils donned their bright green tabards and with matching green sacks threw themselves into ‘the Big Tidy Up’.

At the end of their three day stint, a total of 16 large sacks of litter were collected from around the school site.

Kara Nicholas, Key Stage 3 Pastoral Manager at the school, said, “Our pupils have risen to the challenge and have helped raise the awareness of littering in our school. We need to tackle the issue of dropping litter not just in school but in our community too. We currently hold the silver Eco Schools award and are steadfastly working towards our Green Flag award. We are taking this work seriously and feel proud of the progress we are making to become a greener school”.

Well done all Year 7s involved in last week's BIG tidy up!
Our school is trying to become greener by recycling. We can all make a difference.
