Non Uniform Day

(23 March 2010) Pupils at Deer Park are frequently encouraged to ‘make the challenge the opportunity’ and will again be actively contributing to fundraising on Friday 26 March, when they will participate in a special non-uniform day for the local charity ‘Hope for Tomorrow’ (visit their website). Sadly, cancer is an illness that touches so many of our lives and the opportunity to be treated locally and close to home is very important. Representatives from the charity have shared their work with pupils in Year 10 through our PSHE programme and, on Monday 29 March, pupils themselves, in their Science lessons and over our lunchtimes, will be able to visit the mobile chemotherapy unit when it visits Deer Park and find out more about how science works and why this is such an important resource for the community.
