Congratulations to the players who have been selected to join the Deer Park Performance Cricket Programme being run in school in readiness for the 2011 season. The 10 week programme will refine the players’ technique and increase their skill level to a new level. By selecting the best young talent in the school it is intended the programme will enhance experience and push them forward to achieve even more for the school, their club and possibly break into the District youth squads. Organised and run by the school, the programme will be complimented by visiting coaches from the Gloucestershire Cricket Board. Each week the players will be put through a range of fielding drills to improve this vital area of the game. Focus will then be given to a specific skill, whether it be the off drive or learning how to get more revolutions on the ball when perfecting the leg break. The players will explore the different elements of the game including how to develop a positive mental approach. The pupils involved are: Robbie James, Rob Lamble, Alex Binnie, Callum Comery, Jake Elliot, Callun Higginson, Charlie Partridge, Fin McLellan, Tom Snowball. We look forward to watching their progress throughout pre season. For further information, please contact Chris Germaine at the school. |
