Welcome back

We are pleased to welcome staff and pupils back to our new school term after the summer break, and, because we launch our new timetable in June, the pupils have returned to a prompt start and learning has commenced immediately!

Pupils in all year groups have applied themselves quickly to tasks and those in Year 11, who returned to learn some of their GCSE module exam results, especially, have shown a determination to succeed this year. Many have already secured good GCSE grades in French, Statistics and Religious Philosophy and have laid strong foundations in Geography, Maths and Science.

Induction Days

Monday 12 July 2010

This week we extend a very warm welcome to our new Year 7 pupils who join us on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 July as a part of our induction programme. We are looking forward to meeting with them again, after our visits to them in their primary schools and our initial induction meetings in June.

This is the first year that we have been able to host our new tutor groups for two days and follows consultation with local primary Headteachers. We hope the pupils will benefit from this extended experience, enjoy the range of activities they will be able to engage in and make new friends. Many are already familiar with the school as they have participated in activities on site during their time in their primary schools, or over the last year in our programme of activities after-school and on our Primary Challenge Day in June.

The song contains verses in English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. The five traditional languages of the South African national anthem are also represented in the song.
